A Simple Galentine's Brunch for your Best Gals

Whether you are single, married or in a relationship can we all agree that our best gals are the MVP's of our day to day life??  Galentine's day is a non-official holiday that is celebrated on February 13th, the day before Valentine's Day.  It quickly gained popularity after being introduced on an episode of Parks and Recreation in 2010.  It is a day that is meant to celebrate the love you have for all of your gal pals.  This year I cannot think of a better way to celebrate the ladies that mean the most to mean than champagne and a delicious brunch.

Although there is really no wrong way to celebrate, we feel like this brunch is best for an intimate small group.  You want to have the best of the best for these ladies, they are all after all the women you call on when life gets too big or heavy to handle alone.  To toast these incredible women, you will of course need a good drink.  We have you covered with two great options.  Tired of the traditional mimosa? Try a Strawberry Rose Gin Fizz!  We adapted the following recipe from the Strawberry Gin Fizz recipe found from Dessert for Two.
Ingredients
3 strawberries
1 teaspoon sugar
3 ounces gin
1/2 teaspoon rose water
pinch of salt
4 ounces dry champagne or Prosecco
lime wedges
Directions
Muddle strawberries and sugar in the bottom of cocktail shaker or glass.  Add ice, gin, salt and rose water.  Shake until well mixed and chilled.  Pour into glass, top with champagne and squeeze a lime wedge into the glass.
Keep your food options fun and simple.  A make your own yogurt parfait or a waffle bar is sure to please.  If you don't have time to pull together one of these then opt for some gourmet pastries, doughnuts, or even a quiche from your local bakery!
