The Power of Purple
Because I'm a mom of young kids, when I think purple, images of a large, singing purple dinosaur come to mind. No thank you. But I recently learned that there's more to purple than just a dancing dino. Turns out, purple is actually the most powerful wavelength of the rainbow. And it's one of the rarest colors in nature (at least to our ancestors it was). Which is why, back in the day, only royalty wore the color purple. It was so difficult to make purple dye from massive amounts of snails, that only the privileged were able to have their clothes dyed. Then enter modern chemistry and we have purple in as many shades as we like. Thank you science!
